Trudy
Introducing Miss Trudy, the terrier mix with balls of steel and a heart of gold!
Little Miss Trudy, who is totally blind, was found wandering on the streets of Atlanta when she was picked up by a kind hearted lady who feared she would be run over. She had been running wild for some time and was in a dreadful state.
When she was taken to the vets for a check up, it was discovered she was pregnant.
She is ten years old!
Can you even imagine? Ten years old, pregnant, homeless and blind.
We agreed to take in Miss Trudy, who is now spayed and the puppies aborted by the way, and foster her for a while as she needed some peace and quiet and a cozy couch to sleep on while waiting for surgery on her eyes. She has ingrown eyelashes that make her eyeballs dry and crusty, she needs multiple eye baths and drops every day and so her Good Samaritan, that picked her up off the streets is going to fund her surgery so she will be more comfortable.
Miss Trudy and Lil Kim are fast becoming good pals, and have quickly eased in to their new normal with aplomb. They bimble around the yard together, Trudy looking for things to jump off ( I know, right?) and Kim looking for bugs to eat….ugh!
Lil Kim is very mindful of her new houseguest and barks to let her know when she getting too close to something she shouldn’t…like Lil Kim’s dinner! Lol
Welcome to the family Trudy, we hope you are very happy here and know you’re getting all the love you can handle from our wonderful volunteers!
Here’s the wee girl with Eileen Cargill, our fabulous volunteer coordinator.
FAAP update, October 14, 2016: Since first introducing Trudy, we are happy to report that Trudy has been successfully adopted and no longer resides at the cabin!
